Rafael Monje Garcia ~ Suiseki Collector

About Rafael Monje Garcia: I was born in 1952. When I was around 20 years old, I was watching a Japanese movie with a scene showing three splendid Suisekis over a black lacquered table. Since then a strong passion began inside of me for this art. There has been very little information about this subject in Spain until now, and has taken me to be a self-taught.

All the stones I show on my website, I have found in Guipúzcoa, Spain, the place where I live. My biggest fondness is the carving of the Daiza. I have equipped each one of my Suisekis with personalized Daizas. Actually, my main interest consist in disclosing the marvelous art that is Suiseki.
